Community Council/Activities Board
The Community Council is the residential student organization in each first year hall. Community Council members develop and organize programs and hall activities. These include social events, educational programs, recreational opportunities, and service activities.
The Community Activities Board is the residential student organization in each of the upper class halls, plus the halls that house both first year students and upper class students. This board of students will plan and organize a variety of programs in the halls. Each Community Activities Board has floor representatives that work closely with the RAs and Hall Director to plan programs and help raise any concerns in the hall.
Community Councils and Community Activities Boards also serve as a major source of input concerning residence hall operations and policies through representation in SHAPE (Students Helping Advise, Plan and Energize). There is a SHAPE representative from each hall. Community Council and Community Activities Board meetings will take place weekly and the times and places will vary by hall. See your Community Council or Community Activities Board president or their advisor/your Hall Director for more information about how to get involved.
