Bus Services
JMU, in partnership with the city of Harrisonburg,
has established an extensive busing system that encompasses
the campus and areas within the city where a
majority of off-campus students live. JMU students and
faculty and staff members ride free of charge when they
present a valid JMU Access Card. The bus system is a
good alternative even if you have a car. It is efficient and
will save you gas money, wear and tear and your car and
worry about finding a parking space. Godwin Hall is the
central arrival and departure point on campus. Copies
of the bus schedule are available at the OCL office in Warren
Hall, Godwin Hall and Festival bus stops, from
any bus driver, or online at
www.hdpt.com.

Bicycling
Biking is one of the most popular ways of getting around campus and town. Because of the large number of cyclists, it is wise to be aware of the laws regarding cycling and safe riding guidelines. As a general rule, it is always good to be alert for other cyclists, automobiles and pedestrians, especially when on campus. To help avoid the possibility of theft, always lock your bicycle securely to one of the many bike racks on campus. Also, register your bike with the Office of Public Safety. For more information about biking on campus and in Harrisonburg, come by OCL for a copy of our bicycle safety brochure and bike route map.
