JMU Welcomes Alumni

James Madison University alumni from around the country will descend on Harrisonburg this week for the university’s annual Homecoming festivities. The weeklong celebration begins Monday, Oct. 11. Homecoming 2010 features events designed to bring current students, alumni and the local community together.

A number of JMU alumni will head to the classroom to share their expertise with current students. Alumni lectures will take place on Friday, Oct. 15.

  • Joseph Howard (’90) of Salisbury University will lecture on “Balloons, Bowling, Bots and Warm Gas” at the 2010 Physics Alumnus Lecture at 3:30 p.m. in Room 2212 of the Physics and Chemistry Building.
  • The Chemistry Department will hold an Alumni Roundtable featuring Dr. Marie (Lee) Craig (’91) from Mary Baldwin College, Dr. Rachael Carlisle Roehring (’01) of the Consumer Healthcare Products Association and Jessica (Zetelski) Snell (’06) of Johnson & Johnson at 3:30 p.m. in ISAT 159.
  • JMU’s Patrice Ludwig (’96) will be the featured speaker at the Biology Department Homecoming Seminar at 12:20 p.m. in Room 238 of Burruss Hall.

Homecoming 2010 will also feature class and organization reunions, an alumni golf tournament, banner contests, tours of the new Forbes Center for the Performing Arts and Bridgeforth Stadium, bonfire and pep rally and much more. On Saturday, Oct. 16, the nationally-ranked JMU Dukes will square off against the Wildcats of the University of New Hampshire in a key CAA football battle.
