General Guidelines
1.  No more than ten (10) users in the collection space at a time
2.  No food or beverages allowed in the collection space
3.  Backpacks and large pocketbooks must be checked at the door
4.  Stay behind the black line at all times and do not touch objects
5.  Use pencils only when working with collection objects
6.  Ask the curator for an object to be brought to the table for you
7.  The curator will provide gloves if you wish to handle an object
8.  Always keep objects firmly on the center of the table
9.  Notify the curator when you are finished with an object
10. Collection resource materials must remain in the room at all times

  • Independent Study:

Pursue your own interest or a class project while studying real art.  Call or email the curator to set up these hands-on opportunities.

  • Group Study:

The Madison Art Collection can accommodate up to 10 students at a time, so consider studying real objects when doing a group class project.  To arrange these opportunities, call or email the curator.

  • Internships:

The Madison Art Collection has several opportunities to receive credit while obtaining museum experience.

·        Should have taken an introductory course in a research intensive discipline such as art history or history.
