Faculty Use

  • Independent Study:

Research collection objects while pursuing your academic research agenda.  Please discuss any collaborative ideas you might have, including scientific analysis of materials, cultural studies, and of course, historical and art historical research.

  • Class Study:

You can have your class work, either individually or in groups, directly with collection objects.  Please schedule these sessions with the curator as early as possible, particularly for large classes, as rooms will have to be secured at the College Center.

  • Exhibit Opportunities:

The Great Room in the Leeolou Alumni Center is available to exhibit student or faculty research work with the Madison Art Collection.  If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact the Curator at least one semester in advance for scheduling.

  • Guest Lectures

The curator is generally available to lecture to large and small groups on specific areas of the collection, such as ancient Egypt, ancient Greece & Rome, and West Africa.  To use collection objects these lectures must be located in the College Center, so please schedule well in advance for room reservation.
