The Madison Historical Review is a scholarly journal based out of the History Department at James Madison University, created and edited by graduate students. It is an annual, online, scholarly publication providing peer input from both faculty and graduate students on graduate scholarship. The editorial board is dedicated to establishing a forum for all graduate students, studying both American, European, and Public history, so that they may present their ideas and arguments, as well as receive criticism from other members of the field.
The Review is designed to provide a scholarly exchange between graduate history students and faculty members, to encourage historical scholarship, to aid in the refinement of research, analytical and writing skills, and to contribute overall to the historian’s development.
