    Kristen L. McCleary, Assistant Professor of History, received her Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles and her B.A. from the University of California, San Diego.
      Dr. McCleary teaches courses in South America and world history. Her research interests include Latin American urban and cultural history, the historical construction of gender, and the representation of Latinos in the United States. She has contributed to the journal Studies in Latin American Popular Culture and is currently revising her dissertation, "Culture and Commerce: An Urban History of Theater in Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1880-1920" for publication.
