John
J. Butt is Professor of History. He received his Ph.D. from Rutgers
University, the B.Phil. from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland
and the A.B. from Rutgers College. Dr. Butt teaches courses in Global
history, British, Medieval and Early Modern European history. His
research interests include 16th and 17th century developments in
agriculture and botany. He is author of "Daily Life in the
Age of Charlemagne" (2002) and "Greenwood Dictionary of
World History" (2005). Dr. Butt is also Director of Honors
Study Abroad at Oxford University and the University of St. Andrews.
He is the 2006-07 recipient of the Carl Harter Distinguished
Teacher award, which recognizes exemplary commitment to teaching.
He recently published "The Greenwood Dictionary of World History"
Greenwood Press, 2005. |
