Matt Fulgham, B.A. 1989 and M.A. 1991, visited campus March
11, 2008, in his role as Assistant Director of Legislative Archives
at the National Archives. He spoke during Centennial Week
celebrations on "The National Archives - Preserving the Nation's
History from Madison's Messages to 9/11 Commission E-mails."
Patrick Creed, B.A. 1993, has written an account of the
firefighting and rescue operations at the Pentagon following the
terrorist attack on 9/11. Patrick writes: "This is my first book and
the training from my JMU professors was invaluable during the course
of my research, especially from Dr. Arndt."
Deployed to Iraq shortly after signing a book contract with
Random House, the author interviewed firefighters by satellite phone
in the middle of the night, during a rocket attack, while lying on
