Chapters will value maintaining a relationship with Student Organization Services (SOS) by continuous two-way communication between the chapters and the professional staff. Chapter officers will submit the necessary paperwork by the required deadlines.

Each chapter will have a chapter advisor knowledgeable of and working in cooperation with the chapter. SOS will provide Chapter Advisors with a workshop to facilitate expectation setting between chapters and their advisors and any additional resources for assistance in advising chapters.

Chapters will be knowledgeable with, understanding of, and compliant with all University policies, rules, and regulations as stated in the current Student Handbook.

Each chapter will have an internal standards board that operates in accordance with their Inter/National Organizations recommended structure. It will be the responsibility of the chapters to educate their members each semester on the purposes and functions of the Internal Standards Board.

Each Chapter will have a New Member Educator responsible for education of the New Members.

Chapters will each have a Chapter Resource Counselor (CRC) to provide resource and referral information to the members of their chapters needing this information. This position will receive training through the SOS office and may be filled by anyone in the chapter.  (It may be filled by a person in another executive or appointed position as long as they fulfill all required trainings and duties.)

Chapter leaders will also set responsible examples for getting along with other chapters as well as the local and national community.

Chapters will uphold and abide by the Alcohol and University’s alcohol policies.

Every Executive Officer in the chapter or on a Governing council must be currently enrolled at JMU and have a GPA of 2.0 or above to be elected. If an Executive Officer's cumulative GPA falls below a 2.0 while in office, the officer must forfeit his/her position. If no GPA is available, due to the transfer status of a perspective officer, they may hold office unless their cumulative JMU GPA falls below 2.0.
