In the spring of 1939, Fraternity/Sorority Life began at what was then Madison College. Today, more than 2,000 students are strong and vital members of the fraternity/sorority community at James Madison University.

Today, we are proud to have a thriving fraternity/sorority system on campus with 14 nationally recognized fraternities and 9 nationally recognized sororities.

Fraternity/Sorority Life offers students a unique opportunity to have a balanced college life with a focus on academic excellence, brotherhood/sisterhood, community service and responsible social interaction. Fraternity/Sorority Life allows students to make lasting friendships with individuals with similar ideals and common purposes.
