Hazing of any form, will not be tolerated. Any chapter in violation of the Hazing Policy will face judicial sanctions, including the possibility of losing University Recognition.
SOS will provide appropriate workshops and training on these topics for chapters to educate their members.
Chapters are expected to follow the Inter/National and campus policies surrounding all areas of Risk Management.
Chapters will have an elected President, Risk Manager, and Social Chair who will attend all training sessions for these positions offered by the IFC, Panhellenic Council and SOS.
SOS, IFC and Panhellenic are responsible for presenting ever chapter with any changes or updates that they seem deem fit in regard to the Risk Management Policy.
Any changes to the Risk Management Policy must be presented to the individual Chapter Presidents and Risk Managers within one week before the implementation of the policy change.
On-campus chapter houses will have a house manager who will assist chapters in working in conjunction with the Office of Residence Life policies regarding check in and out, occupancy, vandalism, social functions and cleanliness.
Chapter members living in off-campus chapter housing will keep the value of being a good neighbor central to the behavior and decision making in and about their house.
Each chapter will be required to complete 3 non-alcoholic social events and provide proper documentation to SOS.
Educational programming will be a requirement for each roster; any program non-entertainment based that increases a person’s holistic development will count as an educational program.
Chapters may use programs put on for the entire JMU, other chapters, or specific programming aimed at needs in their specific chapters. They must have 3 programs per semester, and one of these must be on risk management.
