Chapter History

The Beta Omicron chapter of Alpha Kappa Lambda is located at James Madison University. Beta Omicron was founded on April 21, 1987 by our six founding fathers. Our founding fathers began a strong chain of brotherhood that has been the cornerstone of our organization since its inception in 1987.

Over the past twenty years, Alpha Kappa Lambda has been an active member of James Madison University. Through our annual concert event, Lombardi Gras, AKL has helped sponsor the Special Olympics and have donated over $5,000 to cancer research.

Alpha Kappa Lambda has also maintained a major role in the James Madison University Greek community. AKL won the intramural championship at JMU for the 1997-1998 academic year. AKL accomplished this feat by acquiring the most points in the intramural sports of any other fraternity at JMU.  Beta Omicron also takes pride in their well established soccer team, which has captured numerous championship titles in both indoor and outdoor soccer.

If you are interested in rush information at Alpha Kappa Lambda, please contact us by email. Or stop by the house and ask one of our brothers for assistance and a rush calendar.
