The Interfraternity Council (IFC) is the governing body for the men’s fraternities at JMU. The mission of the Interfraternity Council is to create a system of continuity and to provide general guidelines for all of the fourteen chapters recognized at JMU. The mission of IFC is met through the Interfraternity Council provided a forum for discussion between chapters and by foster a spirit of encouragement and growth within chapters. As a governing body, the IFC Constitution and a judicial policy guide the Council. By acting in accordance with these policies, IFC’s primary objective of sustaining a healthy, strong, and safe environment for fraternities can be met. IFC also helps promote all fraternity activities and accomplishments to the JMU and Harrisonburg community.
